Introduction
Welcome to The Dalton House Training Academy, where educational and personal development go hand in hand. Our tailored focus is to help you to be the best you can possibly be in your chosen role or competence.
The primary focus of our Academy is to deliver our flagship programme 'The Award in Hearing Aid Dispenser Competence', an educational programme approved by the Health and Care Professions Council to provide eligibility to apply for UK registration as a Hearing Aid Dispenser.
Our Training Centre
Our modern training centre includes state-of-the-art technology in the main classroom, meeting rooms with wi-fi in public areas and free internet connection in all meeting rooms and bedrooms.
We have 20 ensuite double bedrooms each with TV, individually controlled heating, tea making facilities and a study desk. We also have a couple of single rooms.
- Covid Safety Measurers -
In response to the current pandemic we have introduced additional safety measurers at Dalton House. These include reducing the maximum capacity of all rooms, additional cleaning of high-touch areas, use of appropriate PPE and more regular disinfection, including regular hand washing and use of handsanitisers. Additional measurers and protocols regarding the allocation and cleaning of accommodation are in place and these will be explained to trainees and other guests on arrival. As a result, some facilities including food and beverage may have reduced choice or be delivered in a more directive format. Specific information will be provided at the time, as the protocols are subject to change according to UK Government guidance. A designated Health and Safety Officer oversees the Covid safety protocols implemented at Dalton House.
Our Training Philosophy
You will have the support and the opportunity to pursue a range of learning activities from classroom presentations to role-play and self directed learning. We aim to accommodate all learning styles in the way that workshops and programmes are designed and delivered.
Where personal development means staying away from home on a residential basis we strive to make the transition from learning time to social time as smooth as possible. Delegates on our core programmes will have easy access to tutors and be given pastoral support through a range of resources. Overlooking the Pavilion Gardens, the training centre is perhaps one of the most sought after learning venues in the UK, and is situated just a few minutes walk from shops, restaurants, pubs, leisure and sports facilities and the Buxton Opera House.
